Our Review
of the Avartar Movie
The year 2154: The resources of the earth
going to run out, escape civilization to take care of
themselves. On the planet of Pandora are however abundant
immeasurably valuable resources that could guarantee the
survival of the human race and are expected to lead to
degrading, private conglomerate to wealth. From a base of a
special squad of ex-military men and scientists operating in
preparation for its removal. The problem: The environment is
extremely hostile to life on the planet. Not only human beings
can not survive here without artificial oxygen, also teeming
with fearsome creatures from which everything that moves, to
seek his life. To explore the shy nature of the people Na'vis
that the scientists have created avatars, hybrids, was crossed
to human DNA with that of the Na'vi. Controlled, these avatars,
but of people. The Marine paraplegic Jake Sully (Sam
Worthington) has just arrived on Pandora. Here he is sliding
under the command of Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) in the
footsteps of his dead twin brother and infiltrate the people of
the Na'vi. On his first ride in the jungle, he encounters the
natives Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), to which he immediately finds a
wire ...
The
production history of "Avatar" is in itself already an
event. Since
1995, when James Cameron's first screenplay version of
"Avatar" wrote, flits through the Project
Hollywood. Often
enough, the filmmaker announced, with the Terminator,
Terminator 2, Aliens, Abyss, and Titanic is already wrote
several film history that he wanted to tackle the epic
until the technology is mature for that.
For works
such as Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, or
the Pirates of the Caribbean series Cameron saw the time
had come to attack with "Avatar".
He drove
the performance-capture technology and further developed
together with Vince Price a 3-D Fusion camera, which
allows to turn, as variable as with conventional
models. To Cameron
worked with the New Zealand effects company Weta (Lord of
the Rings "), hand in hand. The result
of all these tremendous efforts that were running at full
speed since 2005, has formally been very impressive
because the director of technology, not the wheel
reinventing, but it is rounded so as nobody has done
before him so far - not even performance-capture
Specialist
Robert Zemeckis (Beowulf, Disney's A Christmas
Story). Cameron's
images may actually raise the claim of the photo-realism
- only in a few jungle sequences suggests itself still
being close to a computer game. This new,
complete detachment from the real Cameron opens up a
completely free hand side of any logistical restrictions
- nothing that had been physically impossible, the
filmmaker still limited. The
question remains what he starts with that freedom
...
